The MIPS production process
The MIPS technology was developed from high quality research at the Royal Institute of Technology and Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
The technical implementation of the new results in a helmet uses the most recent design tools:
1. The MIPS Technology is designed into a helmet using a CAD model, used for new tooling, building an SLA model and to generate an FE model
2. An FE model of the helmet is created from the CAD model.
3. The FE model of the helmet is used for a first verification of the MIPS technology using computer simulations including a detailed FE model of the human head.
4-6. After a quality check of an early prototype (SLA model) the final physical model of the helmet is experimentally tested in the MIPS Test Lab.
